October 13th: Lacey Soniar, owner of the Dolled Up beauty salon, hosted the ‘Loveless Lays’ charity event at the Monarch Art Gallery. Proceeds were intended to go toward advocating and awareness of abused women.
At the price of $25 for admission, supporters enjoyed free champagne, an open bar, and food provided by Bonita by the Sea. Grammy award winning rock band, Vaarallinen, also performed a show for benefit goers.
Amidst the purple clad attendees, two mayoral candidates were present: Leon Abbott and David Pink. Pink was one of several eligible men up for auction, proceeds of which were meant for the cause.
Rafael Cortez, Hutson Street Journal op/ed contributor, was auctioned off to a mysterious bidder for $1 million. Caliph Appleton, Vaarallinen band member, bid and won David Pink for $100 thousand. Sebastian Zumlacarregui won Erik Severn, also a band member, for $125 thousand.
Cortez expected Soniar to visit him at his home after the event, however she never arrived. Texts and calls went unanswered.
Suspicions arose after Soniar’s social media presence mysteriously vanished.
Earlier this morning, the Hutson Street Journal received a phone call from Soniar. The number could not be traced.
“New York has been very generous. I almost feel bad for taking their money. Mind, I didn’t get it all. Look no further than Nico’s Pawn Shop if ya’ll want someone to blame. Shaun Weaver got a cut of the charity money.”
Soniar forwarded copies of bank transfers to the Hutson Street Journal showing $25 thousand transferred to Shaun Weaver’s account. These statements have yet to be verified.
