The Busy Bean Coffee Café hosted a Halloween Masked Ball at the Atlantis Night Club on Independence St on October 26th. The event was sponsored by North Providence mayoral candidate Leon Abbott.

Atlantis Night Club opened its doors at 2:00 PM to a flood of patrons in colorful and elaborate costume. Devonn St.Diaz, club proprietor, greeted everyone at the door. Among the notable guests were Nikolas Prisce, owner of the Smoke Shed and vice-president of the Vargr Motorcycle Club; Tessa Mills, owner of Whiz Wireless; Siri Lassater, owner of the Busy Bean Coffee Café, Leon Abbott and his running mate Aurora Attis; and David Pink, Abbott’s opposition for mayor.

Featured entertainment for the evening was an hour long performance by Grammy award wining rock band Vaarallinen. A shared kiss between guitarist Callith Appleton and vocalist Erik Severon gave notable rise among event goers.

Abbott and Lassater kept close company as the band performed. The intimate nature of their dancing did not go without notice nor comment by guests. Abbott disappeared from the floor shortly after.

Proceeding the band’s show, Pink took the mic to give impromptu gratitude to the hosts, the band, and announce his new foundation.

“Let’s start off by thanking Atlantis and Leon for hosting this lovely event. Really it is so nice to have everyone in a room all together. Well almost everyone, it would seem the host decided to leave. But anyways, that’s not why I am up here. I am so thrilled to unveil the David Pink Foundation for the city of North Providence. I have teamed up with Guardian Medical Center to provide free STD and HIV tests for all that need it. With the rise of things getting spread around, just like nasty rumors, The David Pink Foundation will take away the worry and stigma associated with those kind of tests. The David Pink Foundation will also help treat these ailments discreetly and at no cost to whoever needs it.”

Attis rushed to the stage to challenge and demand Pink get off.

“Hey, hey little (male genitalia), give me the mic!” Attis could be heard shouting over a stunned crowd.

Attis proceeded to accuse Pink of lying to the press.

“Were you the one telling lies about me to the journal? So, you were the one working for the Mafia? You must have, as you had a photograph. Well, well Mr. Pink playing dirty?”

And further denied the accusations.

“Shut up, piece of (expletive)! There was no source working with me. I was never involved with the Mafia, you liar. I hope the whole city finds out you are a liar and is defaming me to get advantage in politics… This party was made by Leon, get off from the stage, pink (male genitalia).”

Security then stepped into the scene, demanding Pink withdraw. Pink would not relent, calling for Attis to quit the stage and the crowd applaud.

“Miss Aurora Attis everyone! Let’s give her a round of applause as she leaves the stage! Get the (expletive) off my stage, you money hungry whore.”

Aurora, undeterred, continued to speak for her own character.

“My family is rich. I only work because dignity is built with work. And I love this city, smart (expletive). Good luck, liar in Pink!”

Pink, upon announcing he’s done, took off the mic and snapped it in two. Loud stereo screeching filled the room.

Attis secured another mic to get the final say.

“Very nice, David, but Leon Abbott has a plan to make health care totally public. That means, those tests will also be for free, including treatment for people with HIV. So, while you are giving tests free, Leon will give the whole medical service for free. I invite you all to read Leon Abbott’s interview on the Hutson Street Journal and not be poisoned by rumors that come from people that play dirty.”

Attis thanked the crowd for coming and then stepped down from stage.

The crowd gave mixed reactions over the display.

“Another politician lying to get votes.”

“Power to the Pink!”

“It’s ballsy, he’s got my vote.”

“You’re a politian, behave like one.”

Shortly after the public spectacle, Abbott returned to the dance floor. He was seen with Attis in discussion of the recently transpired events.

Voting for North Providence mayor is November 11th at the court house on La Loma St. A final count of absentee ballots is expected to end on the 12th at noon.
